Marilyn has dabbled in watercolour painting since she was young, taking after her mother who was an accomplished watercolour painter and an inspiration.
About twenty-five years ago she began to develop her skill, taking classes with Sharon Taylor in Peterborough. Marilyn learned how to create sound compositions, interesting colour mixes and to capture the mood of her subject within a painting. Marilyn can paint just about anything! She likes a challenge and has tackled pet and people portraits, florals and landscapes of locations from around the world. Recently Marilyn expanded her painting to include oils. “There are some subjects that just work better in oil” and she is enjoying the vibrancy and textures possible with this medium. There is always something new to learn and create! Painting is a passion for Marilyn which she does when travelling, spending cottage time in Muskoka and in her studio at home in Peterborough |
Anne has been a full time production potter in the Peterborough area for over 45 years and is an accomplished watercolour and oil painter.
Anne has a large bright pottery studio on their country property. Anne's functional pottery pieces are easily recognized by colourful glazes and bark like texture on the outside of some pieces. Her nonfunctional Horsehair fired Raku work with feathers and sugar dots complement any room. Anne was a founding member of the Kawartha Potters Guild, organized and ran the successful “Autumn Treasures Fine Artisan Show" in Peterborough for 24 years. She has had her work in many galleries and shows throughout Ontario. Anne started painting with oils about 6 years ago, just to try a different medium and texture. |

With a soft touch of the brush and subtle colour tones, Marilyn has a style which is pleasing and believable, but not photographic and overly detailed.

Anne likes to use colour in her paintings. Nature, fall trees, flowers, winter scenes, sunsets, animals even snow will have lots of colour! Anne’s love of the outdoors and her hobbies of photography, skiing, golf, fishing, and gardening are reflected in her works.
