I paint almost exclusively “en plein air”.  I love to paint and I love being outdoors so painting outdoors just makes sense to me.  Painting outside forces me to really see and feel what is around me.  All the sights, sounds and smells around me affect the way I work and instill an energy into my paintings that I can’t seem to capture in my studio.  I always aim to give viewers of my plein air work a sense of the joy that I felt while working on it.
