Shawn Hamilton started her professional equine photography business CLiXPhoto.com in the early eighties. After covering numerous World Equestrian and Olympic games for various equestrian magazines Shawn began her photojournalist career creating articles on horseback riding vacations world wide. From crossing the Andes from Chile to Argentina and wine tasting in South African on horseback to riding the Marwari horses of India and trekking through Mongolia her work has taken her to all corners of the globe.
Shawn chose to print a selection of her work on photographic paper as well as Canvas (LE to 40) , Metal (LE to 50) and Fine Art Paper (LE to 100).
Her new endeavour, photo encaustics involves painting photographs with encaustic medium, made from bees wax and dammar resin (crystallized tree sap) adding a unique layering element to her photos, creating one of a kind gems.
Shawn lives locally at Lake Weslemkoon, where she hosts various photo workshops and teaches photography both online and in person.
