Above and Below the Reef I have always wanted to learn to scuba dive ever since I first watched “Sea Hunt” starring Lloyd Bridges on television. The program ran from 1958-1961 and then went to reruns for many years. It was not until 2000 when by chance I saw and advertisement for Adventure Divers in Peterborough and as they say “the rest is history”. Being able to dive has opened up a new and wonderous world for me. Most of my work is from photographs I have taken while underwater. I enjoy diving the wrecks in the Caribbean, seeing the schools of fish swim slowly through the coral reef in never ending patterns is awe inspiring and the unbelievable colours never cease to amaze me. There’s this huge world we haven’t yet explored and it’s always changing, which is one of the reasons I continue to explore beneath the surface. You never know what treasures you will find. The Highlands en Plein Air Plein Air painters love the challenge of painting outside and the energy it brings to their artwork. In this exhibition, the artists from APFTA's Plein Air group will be displaying their completed paintings of the Highlands. Visit the show and see how many of the painting locations you can recognize and how different artists interpret the same scene. Do you paint outdoors? Do you love to meet and work with other artists? If so, send an email to [email protected] and connect with our group. Get inspired and have your painting included in the November Annex show. View the Plein Air Group's webpage for contact information and painting locations. |
