About the ExhibitJohn Christie paints almost exclusively “en plein air.” He loves to paint and enjoys being outdoors, so painting outside naturally suits him. Painting outdoors forces him to truly see and feel his surroundings. The sights, sounds, and smells around him influence the way he works and instill an energy into his paintings that he cannot seem to capture in the studio. He always aims to give viewers of his plein air work a sense of the joy he felt while creating it.
