f23 is a community of photographers who want to:
- Develop a better understanding of photography as an art form through the study of great photographers, past and current, and significant photographic movements.
- Improve and enrich their own practice of photography, through study, personal reflection and constructive interaction and critique with other group members.
We meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month. The usual drill is a meal together at 5.30 at the Bancroft Eatery (half-price wing night!) for anyone who can make it; then moving to A Place for the Arts at 7.00 for our meeting.
The evening usually consists of an informal presentation or video about the work of a significant photographer, followed by a constructive critique session where we present samples of our work.
We bring prints of our work when possible, but samples on a thumbdrive are also welcome.
