ROBIN MAYER - TZIPPY ART
I won an art contest at the age of nine at school, but I was more interested in the performing arts. As a teenager I learned to dance on ice and became a figure skating coach. I got over stage fright to enter the stage with the help of the Royal Conservatory of Music. I also studied writing with Eugene Brook, a playwright. Several of my lyrics have been published. I worked at the CBC as an actress and played trumpet in the Musicians’ Union. Mais Tro at Ilio Del Orso was my opera teacher and I sang in a conservative Jewish choir as a soprano. I drew on elements of my past to produce a CD called Catharsis. These days I have found creative expression in painting. I was pleased when one of my pieces won in a art contest at the Art Gallery of Bancroft recently.
