I’m a writer and filmmaker–and more recently, part-time barista–who has returned to still photography as a creative pursuit. Wow, have things ever changed since the 70s…

I like to photograph whatever catches my eye. Often that involves the urban or rural landscape, especially if the scene has a strong graphic element. I’m a sucker, for instance, for overhead wires and shadows on sand or snow.

My other favourite subject area is performance. I love what happens to the faces and bodies of musicians and actors when they’re doing their thing.

My partner Dianne and I moved from a loft in Toronto to a yurt north of Bancroft in 2002. We enjoy solid walls now, but otherwise, we’ve never looked back.
